The Niger state Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Muhammed S. Idris has announced that 18 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to the state have tested positive for COVID-19. According to Idris, the corps members tested positive after the state Ministry of Health conducted the routine test on them.
Consequent to the new cases, the state COVID-19 task force has been restored to ensure that all COVID-19 safety protocols are re-enforced.
He added that nobody would have access to all public offices without wearing facemasks, while all heads of Ministries, Departments and Parastatals have been directed to provide handwashing facilities.
