Fifteen students of Army Day Secondary School, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State were on Thursday, July 8, crushed to death by a petrol tanker.
It was gathered that the driver of the patrol-laden tanker was on top speed when he suddenly lost control and due to brake failure, ran over some of the pupils who were walking home after school.
While many of the students died on the spot of the incident, others who sustained serious injuries were rushed to the Army Hospital, Effurun Barracks for medical attention.
